Bell, the second YAMEN participant <\/a>from Myanmar, is volunteering with one of our local partners,\u00a0Mission DOVE<\/a>, and was recently interviewed for their blog. I thought that I’d share her responses here<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy name is Bell, and I\u2019m from Myanmar. I\u2019m currently a volunteer teacher at Mission Dove, teaching Level 6 students. Even though it has only been 2 months, it already feels like I\u2019ve become part of the Dove family. We share meals, have devotions, chat, play games, and even enjoy self-care sessions together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I first came thinking I would give and share my blessings. But very quickly, I realized it was actually a beautiful exchange \u2014 I am also receiving encouragement, friendship, and blessings from my colleagues and students. I\u2019m truly grateful for where I am and what I\u2019m doing right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before coming, I faced many challenges and hardships, but I see them as part of His plan and opportunities to learn. When I look back at how this journey began, I can clearly see His perfect timing. By His grace, I made it through the process and arrived in Cambodia. Every moment here has reminded me of His miracles and kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018There is no coincidence with God.\u2019 This phrase came to me when I first started at Mission Dove. I chose this organization with only a little knowledge about it, but everything pointed me here and now I know it was His plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve learned so much about Mission Dove\u2019s unique working culture \u2014 cooking and eating together, devotion time, self-care, friendly chats, flexibility, and how everyone values community. Their empowerment projects and community engagement inspire me deeply. Often, I find myself thinking, \u2018Wow\u2026 how can a workplace be this fun?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, we\u2019re preparing to open a speaking class and a Bible study for teens. I\u2019m excited to keep learning and to bring these experiences back to my home country someday. Mission Dove has become a turning point in my journey, helping me grow as a teacher and shaping how I see work, community, and purpose,\u201d said Bell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
