Care & Share Thrift Shoppes

Over the last four months we have slowly been downsizing everything we own to a few suitcases, some storage tubs, and a couple pieces of furniture. That’s meant donating a lot of our belongings to thrift stores.

Care & Share is the largest and best organized thrift store in the area.

Today I took a load of our belongings to the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Souderton Pennsylvania to donate. Care & Share is an independent nonprofit that uses it’s earnings to support Mennonite Central Committee.

There’s a Ten Thousand Villages store on the premises that often hosts IVEPers.

Perhaps the easiest way for you to support our work with Mennonite Central Committee in Cambodia & Myanmar is to shop at and donate to Care & Share. Care & Share is also a wonderful place to volunteer and includes a Ten Thousand Villages shop that often hosts IVEPers. Almost every time I visit Care & Share I run into a volunteer from Peaceful Living or Plains Mennonite Church.

What if you’re not in the Souderton area? Well, Care & Share is a member of the Mennonite Central Committee Thrift Shop Network which includes stores throughout the United States and Canada. Click here to find a MCC supporting Thrift Shop near you!

I also use the Care and Share Thrift Shop as a valuable resource. When I lived in the East Bay San Francisco and Raleigh, NC areas, I really missed having the MCC SHOPS In my community. They are friendly, clean, and well-organized places to donate and buy merchandise. The volunteers are deeply committed to the mission and outreach.
